The estaits of parliament now presentlie conveined, taking to thair consideratioun the informatioun and probatioun givine in and provine, both befoir the kirk sessioun of Borrowstounnes and them selffis, aganis Johne Watt, skipper, quhairby they found cleirlie provine that the said Johne Watt had uttered some disgracfull speichs aganis certaine of the ministrie of this kingdome, affirming that they had beine accessar to our leat soverane lord's death; they decernit and ordaine the said Johne Watt to pay to the kirk sessioune of Borrowstounes the sowme of ane hundreth punds Scots, and ordanis the chairgis of the witnesses who cam to Edinburgh and wer examinat upon the speichs uttered be the said Johne Watt to be payit to them aff the first end of the said hundreth punds. And farder the saids estaits of parliament hes ordainit and ordanis the said Johne Watt to acknowledge and confes befoir the congregatioun of Borrowstounnes that if evir he uttired such speichs, he spok them without any ground and that he is a lier in speaking of them, and to find catioun for payment of the said soume of ane hundreth punds and for making his acknowledgment befoir the congregatioun. And in lyk maner the saids estaits of parliament decerns and ordanis the said Johne Watt to act himselff in the books of parliament that he shall nevir utter such speichs heir in Scotland, nor abrod in uther countries, undir the paine of death. And becaus Johne Straitoun, merchand burges of Edinburgh, personallie present, is becume actit and oblist for the said Johne Watt, that he sall mak payment to the said kirk sessioun of Borrowstounnes of the foirsaid sowme of ane hundreth punds betuix and the fyft of Junii nixt and shall satisfie the ordinance of parliament in making his declaratioun befoir the congregatioun of Borrowstounnes upon the 3 of Maii instant, conforme to the tennor and in the words of this act abonewrittin, and hes actit himselff not to vent or uttir any such disgracfull speichis, naither heir in Scotland nor abrod in any uther countrie undir the paine of death, the saids estaits of parliament ordanis the said Johne Watt to be put to libertie furth of the waird hous of Edinbrugh.

The estaits of parliament prorogats and continows the commission appointit for the bills to the same comissionars of everie estait as the samen wes appointit in the last sessioun of parliament, and ordanis any thrie of the said number who shall happine to conveine to be a quorum promiscuous, and this to stand till farder ordors to be takine be the parliament.
