Act town of Lanark

The estates of parliament, taking into their consideration the supplication of Gideon Jack, commissioner for the burgh of Lanark, for himself and on behalf of the bailies, council, community and inhabitants of the said burgh, for reparation of their losses, supply of their present necessity and in the meantime to be freed from quarterings and payment of monthly maintenance, find that the supplicants should have their proportional part of the £20,000 sterling modified and allowed by the parliament to the royal burghs of the kingdom for their losses by sea and land, and ordain the supplicants to have their proportional part thereof according to the quantity of their losses and proportionally with the other royal burghs, according to the general act made relating thereto in favour of the royal burghs for their losses; and supersede the giving answer to the other desires of this supplication at this time.
