The estates, taking into their consideration the petition of the officers and gentlemen who served in the English armies for king and parliament, they ordain a letter of earnest recommendation to be written from the parliament to the two houses of the parliament of England in favour of the said officers and gentlemen who have served in the English armies for king and parliament for payment of their arrears due for their service, and to deliver the same letter to Major Alexander Ramsay, one of their number authorised and entrusted for that effect.
