The estates of parliament nominate and appoint [Archibald Campbell], marquis of Argyll, [Sir Alexander Sutherland], laird of Duffus and Mr Robert Farquhar [of Mounie], with the treasurer of the army, to consider the desire of the letter directed to the parliament from the gentlemen and ministry within the sheriffdom and town of Inverness, with power to them to call for Archibald Sydserf and try what victual has been sent to Inverness and to take trial what victual has been furnished to that town by the surrounding country. With power also to them to call any they please to give them true information and advice anent the condition of the town of Inverness and to report the same with their opinion thereof to the parliament.
