Warrant for securing the prisoners

The estates of parliament ordain Colonel Mauld, commander and keeper of the castle of St Andrews, to secure the persons of Sir Robert Spottiswood, William Murray, Nathaniel Gordon and Mr Andrew Guthrie and to put such strong guards within and without the chambers where they are imprisoned as may safely keep the said persons from escaping, and that as he will be answerable to the estates upon his highest peril, for the which this act shall be his warrant.
