The estates of parliament, having heard and considered the desire represented to them by the committee of war of the sheriffdom of Fife craving warrant for a new valuation of the whole lands and other rents of that shire, that a constant and solid valuation may be thereupon made that according thereto public impositions and other public dues may be paid in time coming, in respect the committee of war of the said shire find that there are many misproportioned and wrongly valued in the shire, which occasions trouble, division and delay of payment of public dues, they do hereby grant power and warrant for a new valuation of the whole lands and other rents within the sheriffdom of Fife to the effect before declared, without diminution to the public of what is due by the shire of Fife; for the which this act shall be a warrant.

The estates of parliament, having heard and considered the desire of the supplication presented to them by John Gordon, eldest son to the late Lieutenant Colonel John Gordon of Cardoness, for himself and on behalf of his mother and brother and sisters craving the benefit of the 30th act of the first session of King Charles' second parliament in 1641, ordaining the benefit of the ward, marriage, non-entry and relief falling by the death of any who should happen to be killed in the defence and maintenance of the laws and liberties of this kingdom to be granted to the supplicant and to his mother, brother and sisters in respect his late father was killed before Hereford on 8 August last in the estates' service and in defence and maintenance of the good cause; the said estates declare and ordain the benefit of the aforesaid act of parliament to pertain to the supplicant and to his mother and other brethren and sisters, and therefore they order the commissioner of the treasury and the lords of exchequer to grant to the supplicant a gift of the ward, marriage, non-entry and relief of the lands and barony of Cardoness and of all lands held of his majesty or of the prince in which the supplicant's late father died infeft, and that freely without any composition thereof. And order the benefit and profit of the said gift to be made use of to the benefit of the supplicant and to the benefit of his brother, sisters and mother in manner and according to the conditions mentioned in the said act of parliament, and this in respect it is well-known to the estates that the supplicant's father was killed and died in their service in the defence and maintenance of the good cause.

The estates of parliament, having heard and considered the report of the committee for the bills anent the desire of a supplication given in by William Graham of Hilton craving warrant for quartering parties of horse or foot upon those of the sheriffdom of Clackmannan who are deficient in payment to him of their parts of the sum of £2,343 6s 8d for arms and ammunition bought by him for the use of the shire of Clackmannan, put in magazine there according to the act of parliament of 1644, and which arms were divided among the several parishes of the shire and the sum above-written as the price thereof ordained to be collected and paid according to the proportion and division contained in an act of the committee of the said shire of the date 18 November 1644, as the same act bears; or for poinding, arresting and distrenzieing the readiest goods and gear of those who should be deficient until the supplicant be paid of the aforesaid sum of £2,343 6s 8d, with the annualrent thereof bygone and in time coming during the non-payment, as the supplication bears. The said estates of parliament order letters of horning to be directed at the instance of the said William Graham, supplicant, for payment of the sum above-mentioned and annualrent thereof aforesaid against the persons and according to the division and proportion contained and set down in the aforesaid act of the committee of the shire of Clackmannan of the date the said 18 November 1644, according to the act of the convention of estates made anent the provision and relief respectively for furnishing arms and ammunition, and the horning to be within the space and under the pains set down and prescribed by the aforesaid act of the convention of estates. As also the estates of parliament order letters of poinding and arrestment to be granted in favour of the supplicant to the effect above-specified in manner appointed and set down in the aforesaid act of the committee of the shire of Clackmannan, for the which this act, with the aforesaid acts, shall be a sufficient warrant.
