Procedure: opening of session

To the which day this fourth session of this first triennial parliament was continued by the last act of the third session thereof, dated 11 July instant, and the estates thereby ordained to meet and convene in parliament at this town this 24 July 1645.

On the first day of this session of parliament

The third parliament, and the fourth session of the same, of the most excellent prince Charles, by the grace of God, king of Scotland, England and Ireland and defender of the faith, held at Perth by the estates of this kingdom, namely: the noblemen, the commissioners for the barons and the commissioners for the burghs convened in this fourth session of this aforesaid first triennial parliament, by virtue of the last act of the last parliament held by his majesty and three estates in 1641.
