The estates of parliament, having heard and considered the supplication of the noblemen and gentlemen within the sheriffdom of Edinburgh principal desiring immediate action to be taken for withdrawing from these shires the regiments quartered therein, and being aware of the great burdens of the supplicants and of their readiness to the obedience of all orders and performing all duties required, declare that they will with all diligence seek to take speedy action to remove the troops mentioned in the supplication, and will have a care that hereafter no forces, either horse or foot, shall be quartered upon the supplicants.
