The estates of parliament give power to the committee for regulating of processes to modify maintenance to those who are imprisoned by the estates and expenses to the witnesses that are summoned and compear before them, and ordain [Sir Alexander Gibson of Durie], clerk register, to give out precepts under his hand of these modifications and expenses, the same being testified under the hand of the president of the committee.
