Legislation
Act and warrant in favour of Robert Maxwell of Connachtie

The estates of parliament, now presently convened by virtue of the last act of the last parliament held by his majesty and three estates in 1641, having heard and considered the report made in audience of the parliament by [William Hamilton], earl of Lanark, president of the committee appointed for regulating the processes of those cited to the parliament, anent the supplication given in to that committee by Robert Maxwell of Connochtrie desiring that the horse, ox and cattle to the number of 36 head of ox and cow with five, six or [...]and mares pertaining to the supplicant, estimated to 2,000 merks plundered and taken away from him by Major Weir and Robert Gordon of the Grange, commissary depute, and William Laurie, his sub-depute, and their associates, might be restored and delivered back to the supplicant or the price thereof aforesaid, with a competent sum for the supplicant's charges and imprisonment, being incarcerated in Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Edinburgh three months and now set at liberty, being found innocent, as the supplication more fully purports. The said estates, in respect that the said Robert Maxwell, supplicant, is liberated from his imprisonment and found free by the parliament of any challenge that is laid to his charge, ordain the said Major Weir, Robert Gordon, commissary depute, and William Laurie, his sub-depute, and all other intromitters with or holders of the said supplicant Robert Maxwell's goods or any of them properly pertaining to him to restore and deliver the same back again to the said Robert Maxwell, and ordain the committee of war of Dumfries and governor of the town of Dumfries to assist the supplicant anent the restitution to him of his said goods and to cause his said goods properly pertaining to him be restored back to him, according to the ordinance above-written, seeing he is liberated by the parliament and found free of any challenge that is laid to his charge as said is, for the which this act shall be a sufficient warrant.

Order: for thanksgiving services to be held for the victory at York
Ordinance for a solemn thanksgiving for the victory at York

The estates of parliament recommend to the moderator and other commissioners of the general assembly the manner and way for a speedy and solemn thanksgiving through the whole kirks of this kingdom for the glorious victory of our army at York against our enemies.

Order: concerning the expenses of those imprisoned or called as witnesses in processes
Ordinance anent those incarcerated

The estates of parliament give power to the committee for regulating of processes to modify maintenance to those who are imprisoned by the estates and expenses to the witnesses that are summoned and compear before them, and ordain [Sir Alexander Gibson of Durie], clerk register, to give out precepts under his hand of these modifications and expenses, the same being testified under the hand of the president of the committee.
