The estates nominate [David Carnegie], earl of Southesk and [John Hamilton], lord Bargany for the noblemen, the lairds [Sir John Shaw of] Greenock and [Sir John Veitch of] Dawyck for the barons and the commissioners [John Osborne for] Ayr and [George Gardyne for] Burntisland for the burghs, or any three of them without distinction†, to fit upon the accounts of William Thomson, commissary depute, and to hear and consider the same and to report to the parliament.
