The estates recommend to their committee to give answer to the instructions sent from the Scottish army in Ireland and to the petitions exhibited in favour of [Hugh Montgomery, viscount Montgomery of the Great] Ardes and the widow of Lieutenant Colonel Leslie, and declare that what the committee shall do in that particular matter shall have the force and authority of an act of the estates and shall be as obligatory on this kingdom as if the same was done by the estates.
