Precept to Captain [James] Jackson

The convention of estates ordain and command William Thomson to deliver to Captain Jackson £200 Scots for providing red cotton and green linen to be side cloths to his ship which is employed for the public service, for which this act shall be his warrant.

The convention of estates ordain and command the bailies of Leith to use their best endeavours to procure a shallop which the estates have conditioned to furnish to Captain Jackson for the use of his ship employed in the service of the public, and that the said bailies price the same and report to the convention, that orders may be given for payment thereof.
