The convention of estates, considering that there are some commissioners sent from both houses of the parliament of England who have some things to represent to the estates, do hereby give commission to [John Lindsay], earl of Lindsay, [John Elphinstone], lord Balmerino, Sir Thomas Hope of Kerse, Sir Archibald Johnston of Wariston, Sir John Smith [of Grotehill] and Mr Robert Barclay to receive from the said commissioners any papers or what else they would have represented to the estates; and to report the same with diligence.
