The convention gives commission to [Archibald Campbell], marquis of Argyll, the earls [William Keith, earl] Marischal, [John Kennedy, earl of] Cassilis, [Charles Seton, earl of] Dunfermline, [John Maitland, earl of] Lauderdale, [John Lindsay, earl of] Lindsay, [Alexander Leslie, earl of] Leven, [John Elphinstone, lord] Balmerino, lords [Sir Thomas Hope of] Kerse, [Sir Archibald Johnston of] Wariston, [Sir Adam Hepburn of] Humbie, lairds [Arthur Erskine of] Scotscraig, [Mr George Winram of] Liberton, [James MacDowall of] Garthland, [Alexander Brodie of] Brodie and [Sir Alexander Irvine of] Drum, and to the commissioners [Sir John Smith of Grotehill and James Dennistoun for] Edinburgh, [Robert Arnott for] Perth, [Thomas Moodie for] Dundee, [Patrick Leslie of Iden for] Aberdeen, [Mr Cuthbert Cunningham for] Dumfries, [Mr Robert Barclay for] Irvine, [Robert Taylor for] St Andrews and [Thomas Bruce of Weltoun for] Stirling to consider of the remedies of the dangers of religion, and to report their opinion what they think most fit to be done in that matter.
