Act of constitution

The noblemen, barons and burgesses presently convened, considering that this convention was, by proclamation in his majesty's name and authority, lawfully called for the great and urgent necessities expressed in the act made relating thereto of 12 May last, have found and declared, and hereby find and declare, that the same is a lawful, free and full convention, consisting of all the members thereof, and has power to treat, consult and determine in all matters that shall be proposed to them as freely and amply as any convention which has been within this kingdom at any time bygone.

The estates ratify all acts, sentences, orders and decreets given by them in any particular whatsoever since the first diet of their meeting and before the act of constitution of the convention above-written.

Act anent recording of protestations

The estates presently convened discharge the clerk of the convention to make record, give out extracts or take any notice in the public registers of any protestations, declarations or instruments made or to be made by any manner of person at this convention without special warrant thereof from the said estates, for the which this act shall be his warrant. It is always declared that protestations made by noblemen or others for precedency are excepted out of this act.
