Memorandum of the three reasons given by his majesty for the delay in returning answers to the last demands
1. That when all our former demands are granted, if there shall be place permitted to new propositions, then no limits can be set to our desires, but the same may turn to be endless.
2. When his majesty has graciously settled our religion and liberties, the proposition of new articles may appear to foreign princes and estates to trench upon his majesty's honour.
3. The same may be taken by his majesty's other kingdoms as an example and preparative for making propositions of the same or the like nature.
