[Petition of Angus MacDonald, grandchild to the Laird of Glengarry]

To the king's most excellent majesty and honourable estates of parliament, the humble petition of Angus MacDonald, grandchild to [MacDonald], laird of Glengarry, showing

That where I am complained upon by [William MacIntosh of Torcastle], laird of MacIntosh, and his friends before your majesty and estates of parliament and am under caution for the same, which in I am not able to answer before your majesty and your lordships for myself in the point of my lawful defences according to the laws of the country, being but young of age and having been bred in the highland countries, therefore my most humble desire to your sacred majesty and your lordships is that I may have liberty to bring my ordinary procurators and advocates to speak and procure for me according to equity and the laws of the country. And your majesty's and lords' answer I most humbly expect.
