[Earldom of Leven granted to Alexander Leslie, lord general; acts read and remitted to each estate]

The which day, in presence of the king's majesty sitting in plain parliament, compeared personally General Alexander Leslie of Balgonie, clothed in parliamentary robes, accompanied by [James Stewart], duke of Lennox, [Alexander Montgomery], earl of Eglinton and [Charles Seton, earl of] Dunfermline, also clothed in their robes, with all solemnities of trumpets, heralds and others ordinary, a patent of earldom of Leven and lordship of Balgonie granted to him and his male heirs lawfully got of his own body was publicly read by the clerk and thereafter convoyed by [John Elphinstone, lord Balmerino], lord president, to his majesty sitting upon the throne. And the king's majesty delivered the said patent to the said lord general after he had sworn the oath accustomed, and thereafter put the crown of an earl upon his head.†

Act rescinding the forfeiture of General [Patrick] Ruthven read, and a copy appointed to be delivered to every estate.

Act regarding the expenses of the commissioners of shires to the parliament read, and a copy appointed to be given to every estate.

Appoints the parliament to meet upon Tuesday at 10 o'clock, and the several bodies upon Monday at 10 o'clock, and the committees for accommodation and the bills this afternoon.
