The king being present.
His majesty produced a letter written to him by [Edward Chichester], viscount Chichester regarding some late commotion in Ireland, which was publicly read in audience of his majesty and parliament. And his majesty desired that some may be appointed to think upon the business so far as may concern the good of his majesty and kingdom. And the estates nominate [John Campbell, lord Loudoun], lord chancellor, [Alexander Leslie, earl of Leven], lord general, [William Kerr], earl of Lothian, [James Livingstone], lord Almond, [Sir David Home], laird of Wedderburn, [Sir Robert Adair of] Kinhilt and [Sir James Sinclair of] Murkle, [James Cochrane and Richard Maxwell], the commissioners of Edinburgh, [Patrick Bell, commissioner for] Glasgow and [John Osborne, commissioner for] Ayr to think upon any course necessary to be done regarding the said letter and what is incumbent to be done by this kingdom thereupon and report again to the parliament, to meet in the general's house this afternoon at 3 o'clock.†
The report of the committee nominated for trial of the late 'Incident' and depositions of the witnesses examined by them, being read in audience of his majesty and estates of parliament, who appoint the clerk to deliver to every estate the just copy of the depositions or else the substantial heads thereof as they shall desire, to be advised upon until tomorrow.
Upon [Master Alexander Gibson of Durie], commissary-general's representation that the auditors had not met upon his accounts, notwithstanding that a macer had warned them for that effect, whereby he was heavily prejudiced and delayed, the king's majesty and parliament ordain a macer of new again to warn the said auditors to meet tomorrow at 8 o'clock in the upper old tolbooth as they will be answerable to the parliament.
Appoints the several estates to meet after noon at 3 o'clock, and the parliament tomorrow at 9 o'clock.
