Report of [Alexander Leslie, earl of Leven], lord general, and committee appointed for setting down some solid course for preventing any prejudice which may arise by the confluence of people to the town and by their frequent repair upon the streets and that all proceedings may be peaceable and regular, and the whole articles thereof as they are amended, with the animadversions made thereupon, read, voted and passed in parliament, which also appoints the same to be published by open proclamation at the market cross of Edinburgh, and that the same be printed, and that the same be drawn up in instructions to the general from the king and parliament.
The lord general earnestly desired answer to General [Patrick] Ruthven's supplication from the king and parliament, who declared that the same should be the first particular which should be answered.
Supplication by [Ludovic Lindsay], earl of Crawford, desiring to be heard in face of parliament, read in audience of his majesty and parliament, who appoint the same to be taken to consideration.
Supplication by Colonel [John] Cochrane, desiring to be heard in face of parliament and to be put out of the tolbooth, read in audience of his majesty and parliament, who appoint the same to be taken to consideration.
Appoints the parliament to meet after noon at 3 o'clock and the several estates at 2 o'clock.

[Ludovic Lindsay], earl of Crawford's petition for a hearing and enlargement being read and continued until tomorrow, and [James Livingstone], lord Almond desired that all trial might be taken for clearing him of some aspersion laid upon him by the deposition of Captain William Stewart.
Regarding the supplication presented by Colonel [John] Cochrane craving to be liberated from the tolbooth, the same being voted, the king's majesty and estates ordain the supplicant to be liberated from the tolbooth and to be sequestered in John Smith's house according to the first order of the house, and none to have access to him except one servant to attend him.
Continues the parliament until tomorrow at 2 o'clock after noon and ordains the several estates to meet at 9 o'clock.
Appoints [John Elphinstone, lord Balmerino], president, to subscribe the proclamation for publishing the articles discharging confluences and convocations.
