In presence of the king's majesty and estates of parliament James, lord Almond, personally present, protested that the act made in this present parliament regarding the disuniting of the kirk of Denny from the kirk and parish of Falkirk and erecting of the same kirk and parish in a separate function and parish kirk per se should be in no way prejudicial to his rights, infeftments and tacks of the patronage of the parish of Falkirk and pertinents thereof and teinds of the same, and of the said kirk of Denny, granted to him, his predecessors and authors of the same patronage, teinds and others specified therein, and that the same rights, infeftments and tacks be in no way hurt nor prejudiced by the foresaid act regarding the disuniting of Denny from Falkirk, and erecting thereof in a separate parish kirk and function†, nor yet a ground to burden the said Lord Almond, his heirs and successors, as patron and titular, with any further augmentation of stipend to the kirk of Denny; and thereupon asked instruments.
