Regarding the overture for restraining the stealing of silver work and punishing the resetters, appoints the presenters of the overture to condescend upon some proposition which may facilitate the granting of the act.

Regarding the article craving liberty to the lieges to erect powder works, [Alexander Livingstone], earl of Linlithgow being heard thereupon and the patent read, appoints [Sir George Dundas of] Dundas and John Smith [of Grotehill], with [Sir John Hamilton of Orbiston], lord justice clerk, to speak with the Earl of Linlithgow in this business.

[Exemptions from act regarding salmon fishing granted; supplication continued]

Regarding the supplication given in by [William Graham], earl of Airth, [John Drummond, earl of] Perth, [Patrick Murray, earl of] Tullibardine, [George Hay, earl of] Kinnoull and others craving exception from the act of parliament regarding salmon fishing for the waters of Forth, Teith and Tay and their tributaries, and that they may begin their salmon fishings at St Andrew's Day [30 November] as was done before, read, voted and passed in articles and ordained to be excepted from the act. And [George Gordon], marquis of Huntly promised to give in an exception also for the River Lochy.

Regarding the supplication presented by Edward Spencer, currier†, craving liberty to buy hides upon public market days and sell the same, being curried, continues the same until after noon.
