Act in favour of Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, knight

Our sovereign lord and estates of parliament ratify and approve the charter and infeftment granted by his sacred majesty under his highness's great seal to his majesty's trusty councillor Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, his majesty's advocate, confirming his infeftments of the lands and barony of Craighall, two part and third part thereof, and of the lands and barony of Wester Granton and others therein contained, which is of date at Edinburgh, 30 June 1625, together with the infeftments and charters therein confirmed, granted by his majesty's late dearest father of eternal memory; and also ratifies and approves the charter and infeftment granted by his majesty's said late dearest father to the said Sir Thomas of the lands and barony of Kininmonth and teind sheaves thereof, which is of the date at Holyroodhouse, 26 August 1619; and also ratify and approve his majesty's gift and letters patent granted by our sovereign lord to the said Sir Thomas during his lifetime of sole advocate to his majesty and to his majesty's dearest son, the prince, which is of the date at Whitehall, 16 February 1631, together with the letter and gift of pension granted to the said Sir Thomas during his lifetime of his yearly pension of £200 sterling to be uplifted out of the readiest of his majesty's rents and casualties, which is of the date at Whitehall, 5 May 1628, in the whole heads and articles thereof, and declares this present ratification to be as valid as if the said infeftments, gifts and others foresaid were word by word inserted herein; concerning which, his majesty, with consent foresaid, dispenses for ever and declares the said infeftments, charters, gifts and pensions to be good, valid and sufficient securities to the said Sir Thomas for possessing of the benefit of the same according to the tenor thereof, notwithstanding of whatsoever act, law or statute made in the contrary, to the which his majesty, with consent of the estates, renounces for ever.
