Act in favour of James Livingstone of Biel

Our sovereign lord, for himself and as father, tutor, guider and lawful administrator to his highness's dearest son, Charles, prince of Great Britain, France and Ireland, with advice and consent of his majesty's three estates of parliament, ordains an act of parliament to be made in favour of his majesty's loving servant James Livingstone of Biel, one of the grooms of his majesty's bedchamber, his heirs and assignees whatsoever, ratifying, approving and, for his highness and his successors, perpetually confirming, likewise his majesty, by the tenor hereof, for himself and as father, tutor, guider and lawful administrator to his highness's said dearest son, with advice and consent foresaid, ratifies, approves and, for his highness and his successors, perpetually confirms the charter and infeftment granted under his majesty's great seal by his highness, for himself and as father, tutor, guider and lawful administrator for his highness's said dearest son, the prince, to the said James Livingstone, his heirs and assignees whatsoever, of the lands and barony of Biel, comprehending the lands, baronies, kirks, patronages and others mentioned in the said infeftment, with the manor places, mills, multures and others mentioned therein, proceeding upon the resignation of the said James Livingstone and of George Lauder of the Bass and Isobel Hepburn, lady Bass, his mother, containing also a gift of novodamus, with a union of the said whole lands and others foresaid in a whole and free barony; which charter and infeftment is of the date at Whitehall, 31 January 1632, together with the precept under the quarter seal of the date of the said charter, with the instrument of sasine following thereupon and instrument of resignation whereupon the same proceeded in the whole points, heads, articles, clauses and circumstances thereof. And his majesty, with advice and consent foresaid, wills and grants and, for his highness and his successors, kings, princes and stewarts of Scotland, decrees and ordains this present confirmation to be of as great value, force, strength and effect to the said James Livingstone and his foresaids as if the foresaid charter, infeftment, precept and instrument of sasine and instrument of resignation whereupon the same proceeded were word by word inserted herein, regarding the which, and with all defects and inconveniences that may follow thereupon, his majesty, for himself and as father, tutor, guider and lawful administrator to his highness's said dearest son, the prince, with advice and consent foresaid of his highness's three estates of parliament, has dispensed and by this ratification dispenses for ever. And further his majesty, for himself and as father, tutor, guider and lawful administrator to his highness's said dearest son, the prince, with advice and consent foresaid of his majesty's three estates of parliament, has dissolved and, by the tenor hereof, dissolves from his highness's crown and patrimony thereof and from the principality of this kingdom all and sundry the foresaid feu lands and others above-mentioned, conveyed to be held in feu and contained in the foresaid infeftment and other rights of the said lands and others above-specified, to the effect that after dissolution thereof as said is, the same may be of new conveyed to the said James Livingstone and his foresaids to be held in feu for payment of the feu duties contained in the old infeftments and securities thereof. And his majesty, with advice and consent foresaid of his highness's three estates of parliament, ordains this ratification to be a sufficient warrant to the clerk register for inserting of the foresaid act of ratification and dissolution, and for extending the same in due form with the rest of the acts of parliament to be made, passed and set down in this next parliament to be held within the said kingdom of Scotland.
