Procedure: continuation of parliament

The continued parliament of the most excellent prince Charles, by the grace of God, king of Scotland, England, France and Ireland, defender of the faith, held at Edinburgh on 19 June 1633 by these commissioners, namely Andrew [Boyd], bishop of Argyll, George [Graham], bishop of Orkney, Robert [Melville], lord Melville, Sir John Hay of Landis, clerk of the rolls of register and council of our supreme lord the king, and Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, advocate of our supreme lord the king, along with Sir George Forrester of Corstorphine, sheriff of the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, Alexander Clerk, provost of the burgh of Edinburgh, Master John Hay, clerk of Elgin, for the constable, Master John Oliphant, advocate, for the marischal, and Andrew White, dempster.

The suits having been called and the court legitimately fenced.

The which day the lords commissioners foresaid of this present high court of parliament now current, after the production of the commissions of the small barons and free burghs, continue this present parliament and all actions, causes, summons, supplications, petitions and articles whatsoever to be therein treated until Thursday, 20 June 1633, at the which day ordain the whole estates of parliament to attend his majesty at Holyroodhouse and to accompany his majesty in most solemn manner to the parliament house as has been accustomed; and ordain the said estates to attend the said parliament until the final end of the same under the pains contained in the acts of parliament; and ordain publication to be made hereof at the market cross of the burgh of Edinburgh, whereupon Sir Thomas Hope [of Craighall], his majesty's advocate, asked instruments.
