The parliament of the most excellent prince Charles, by the grace of God, king of Scotland, England, France and Ireland and defender of the faith, held and begun at Edinburgh on 18 June 1633 by the commissioners written below, namely Andrew [Boyd], bishop of Argyll, George [Graham], bishop of Orkney, Robert [Melville], lord Melville, Sir John Hay of Landis, clerk of the rolls of register and council of our supreme lord the king, and Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, knight baronet, advocate of our supreme lord the king, along with Sir George Forrester of Corstorphine, sheriff of the sheriffdom of Edinburgh, Alexander Clerk, provost of the burgh of Edinburgh, Master John Hay, clerk of Elgin, for the constable, Master John Oliphant, advocate, for the marischal, and Andrew White, dempster.
The suits having been called and the court lawfully fenced.

The which day compeared Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, knight baronet, his majesty's advocate, and produced our sovereign lord's commission underwritten under the quarter seal, whereof the tenor follows:
[Abstract:] The king lets it be know that, because parliament was continued from 3 April to 18 June 1633, and he is now personally present for holding parliament, he appoints the following commissioners, namely, Andrew [Lamb], bishop of Galloway, Andrew [Boyd], bishop of Argyll, George [Graham], bishop of Orkney, James [Ogilvie], lord Ogilvie of Airlie, John [Elphinstone], lord Balmerino, Robert [Melville], lord Melville, John Hay of Landis, clerk register, Thomas Hope of Craighall, king's advocate, George Elphinstone of Blythwood, justice clerk, and James Galloway, libellorum supplicum magistrum, knights, with power to them, or five of them, to assemble in the tolbooth of Edinburgh on 18 June, in such cases as are accustomed to be assigned to the supreme court of parliament, and doing other necessary things. At Holyroodhouse, 17 June 1633, ninth year of the reign.

Upon the production and reading whereof and fencing of the foresaid parliament, the said Sir Thomas Hope [of Craighall] asked acts and instruments.

The lords commissioners above-written ordain this present parliament to run daily until it shall please his majesty and estates to ride and to choose the lords of the articles; and ordain the commissioners of the small barons and burghs to produce their commissions upon 19 June 1633, and publication to be made hereof at the market cross of Edinburgh that none pretend ignorance.
