Forsameikle as the estaites of parliament, taking to their consideratioune that commissioun and warrand wes formerlie granted to Arthour Forbes of Echt for intrometting with and uptaking of the rentis and dewties of excommunicat persones in some pairtis of the north, and heirwith also considdering the approven fidelitie and abilitie of the said Arthour Forbes of Echt and his affectioune to and sufferingis for the caus [of] covenant and countrey, evidenced by his bygane cariage, they doe heerby ratifie and approve the former warrand and commissioune granted to him for intrometting with the rentis of excommunicate persones within the boundis therinmentioned with an[i]e intromissioune had be him be vertew therof. And further the saids estaites of parliament doe not only heerby renue the samyne, bot also be thir presentis gives full power, warrand and commissioune to the said Arthoure Forbes of Echt to uplift, gather in and intromett with the haill escheetable moveables, meanes, maillis, dewties and rentis of all excommunicat persones whatsomever within the shirefdomes of Aberdene, Banff and Innernes addebtit, perteining or any wayes dew to thame or any of thame within the boundis foirsaid; and ordaines him to be comptable for his dilligence and intromissioune to the commissioneris of exchequer, wha are heerby ordained and warranted to grant consideratioune and allowance at ther owne modificatioune to the said Arthour Forbes [for] his paines and travellis tane and to be tane be him in this imployment and of the expenses and chairges alreddie debursed and bestowit or to be debursed and bestowed be him in the intrometting with and uplifting of the foirsaidis rentis, escheatable and moveable meanes and dewties of the saidis excommunicate persones within the schires abonementioned. As also ordaines the lords and utheris of exchequer to grant allowance to the said Arthour Forbes of Echt of what he hes alreddie given or sall heirefter give out of his intromissioune with the saidis rentis of excomunicat persones (that hes beine or sall be uplifted be him by this or his former commissioune) to the kirk as dew to thame according to the actis of parliament and lawis of this kingdome or to their factoris in their names, haveing power for receaveing the samyne frome the severall presbytries and kirk sessiounes within the boundis abonementioned, according as he sall instruct the payment by their tickettis of recept granted or to be granted to him thairupone. And for the said Arthour Forbes, his furtherance and more readie ansering anent his intromissioune and uplifting of the rentis of the saidis excommunicate persones within the boundis abonespeit, the saidis estates of parliament ordaines generall letters to be direct heirupone at his instance, chargeing all and sundrie the saidis excommunicate persones, thair tennentis, servandis and utheris addebted in or intromettoris with their rentis and dewties to anser, obey and mak payment of the samyne to the said Arthour Forbes of Echt, or any utheris in his name heavand warrand and power frome him to receave the samyne and for whome he is to be anserable. And the estaites of parliament ordaines thir presentis to endure ay and whill the samyne be recalled be the parliament or exchequer, and that in the meane tyme the discharges granted or to be granted be him or these haveand warrand frome him is and sall be ane sufficient exoneratioune to the payeris therof at all handis whatsomever.
