Act in favouris of Mr Thomas Hendersone

The estates of parliament, haveing taken to ther consideratioune ane supplicatioune [given] in be Mr Thomas Hendersone, makand mentioune that quher ther is sevin hundreth sevintie fyve pundis viij s. iij d. sterling money due to him in arrearis as secretarie to his excellence, the erle of Levin and clerk to the committee of estaites which did reside with the army in Ingland, besyde two hundreth punds sterling more dew to the said supplicant as secretarie to the said lord generall and Leutennent Generall David Leslie in the expeditioune againes the rebellis in this kingdome; as also that the said supplicant hes faithfullie and painefullie attendit the committee these sevin monethis bygane without receaveing any acknowledgment to himselff or any of his servandis. Humblie thairfore craveing that the saidis estaites of parliament wald ordaine him for the present only to be payed of the first 775 lib. 8 s. 3 d. sterling out of the first and reddiest of the moneyis to be borrowed for the use of the publict or uther publict dewis, untill the saidis estaites of parliament at some tyme more convenient take the supplicantis uther just concernementis into further consideratioune, as at mair lenth is contenit in the supplicatioune. Whilk being heard and considdered be the saidis estaites of parliament, they have ordained and ordaines the said Mr Thomas Hendersone, supplicant foirsaid, to be satisfied and peyed of the foirsaid soume of sevin hundreth sevintie fyve pundis, aught shillinges, thrie penneis sterling due to him in maner abonespeit, and that out of the first and reddiest of any moneyis to be borrowed for the use of the publict or uther publict dewis. And for his more sure payment, hes recomendit and seriouslie recommendis to the committee of moneyis to take some effectuall course that payment may be maid to the said Mr Thomas Hendersone, petitioner afoirsaid, of the soume abonewrittin appoynted to be peyed to him, and that in regaird of his dewtiefull, seasonable and faithfull service performed be him to the publict.
