Act in favouris of the laird of Dudingstoune

The estates of parliament, taking to their consideratioune the supplicatioune given in be George Dundas of Dudingstoune, shewing that upone the twentie twa of Junii 1644 he did len the soume of eightene hundreth merkis Scottis to the publict, conforme to ane act of the daite foirsaid therwith produced, which, with the annuell therof sensyne, is yit restand to me, besydes many uther losses and sufferinges sustenit be the supplicant the tyme of James Grahame's rebellioune and the laite unlaufull Ingadgment. Thairfore desyreing that the parliament wald be pleased to pas ane act in this present parliament, ordering him to be payed of the samyne soume and annuellis therof out of such moneyis as sould be borrowed frome persones of his owne qualitie and whais names he shall give up to the committee of estaites; and to appoynte the one half of the saidis soumes to be peyed to the general commissar for the publict use, and the uther half to the supplicant till he be peyed as said is, as the supplicatioune beires. Whilk, togidder with the opinione of the committee of billis given thairupone, finding the desyre of the said supplicatioune to be reassonable and aught to be granted, being taken in consideratioune be the saidis estaites of parliament, they have ordained and ordaines the said George Dundas of Dudingstoune to be satisfied and peyed of the foirsaid soume of ane hundreth pundis sterling and annualrentis therof lent be him to the publict in Junii 1644, and that out of the soumes of money to be borrowed frome or fynes to be imposed upone such of his qualitie as he shall give up to the committee of estaites, the ane half to be applyed to the use of the publict; and grantis precept to the generall commissar for payment to the said George Dundas of the foirsaid soumes to be gottin in in maner abonespeit, whilk precept, togither with the said George Dundas of Dudingstoune, his dischairge upone the recept therof, sall be ane sufficient exoneratioune to the said generall commissar to get the samyne allowed in his accomptis.
