Efter noune, March the 16

Att 4 a clooke in plane parliament the chansler shew that he wold not take upe anie of ther tyme if it wer not that one word might end whatt he had to say and that itt conserned 4 menes lyfes who wer lyke to suffer with out the parliament geave order to suspen giving out sentens upone thees men for steilling of shiep.

Itt was ordered that the sentense should be suspended till the 10 Apryll and the earle of Callender to heave order for that effect as shirrife of Stirling shyre.

And so we fell to the busines of the day.

Which was the report of the committy of 18 conserning the pouer to be given to some persones etc.

Efter long debate, it was resolved that the following pouer be given to a committy as folloueth:

With pouer allanerly to that committy or quoroume ther of to doe, act or order ani thing requised for previning the danger which may cume to this kingdome be the garisoning or possessing of Berwick and Cairlyll be the malignantes, sectaries or others.

The disasenters frome this voote dissyred that ther dissents might be entered.

The chansler declared that he syned the voot as servant to the hous, not as his oune opinion.

The bodyes wer apoynted to meitt the morrou morning att 10 clocke, and the parliament att 2 in the after noune.
