Procedure: remit to the committee concerning the desires of the commission of the general assembly
Reference anent the supplicatiounes following

The estates of parliament, haveing heard the supplicatiounes eftirspecefeit presentit to thame and red in audience of the parliament, viz: ane supplicatioune frome the presbytrie of St Andrewis, produced be Mr David Forret, minister; ane supplicatioun frome the committee of warr of the stewartrie of Kirkcudbryt, presentit be William Gordoune, younger, of Erlestoune; ane supplicatioun frome the toune councell of Kirkcudbryt, presentit be George Callander, baillie therof; and ane supplicatioun frome the committee of warr of the shirefdome of Wigtoune, the saidis estates remittis the [...] supplicatiounes abonewrittin to the committee of 33, to be tane in consideratioun be that committee with the remanent supplicatiounes committed to them.

Order: for the relief of the quartering of troops in Glasgow
Anent the toune of Glasgow

The aught severall paperis produced be the duke of Hamiltoune, lord generall, subscryved be ane great number of handis of the 8 severall wardis of the toune of Glasgow, testifieing ther reddines and willingnes to obey the ordouris of this present parliament, off the whilks ther wes twa red in parliament and the rest were all of the tennor of these two red, and therefter were instantlie given up to the lord duke of Hamiltoune. And the estates of parliament does approve the said duke of Hamiltoune, lord generall, his quartering of forces upone the toune of Glasgow, conforme to the ordors given to him, and ordaines him to returne thankis to the subscryveris of the foirsaidis 8 papers and to ease them of ther quarteringes, provyding alwayes they upone his ordors put furth ther dew proportione of men in this present levie, conforme to the act of levie.

Warrant: for the release from the tolbooth of the councillors from Glasgow
Warrand to enlarge the 3 persones efterspecefeit

The estates of parliament, haveing heard and considdered the reporte of the subcomittee of 33 concerneing these of the toune of Glasgow incarcerat within the tolbuith of Edinburgh, they ordaine James Stewart, provest of Glasgow, Robert Finlay, merchand ther, and Johne Fleming, merchand ther, thrie of the saids persones incarcerat, to be inlarged furth of the said tolbuith whair they remane incarcerat as said is, and confynes thame to thair ludginges or chalmeris in Edinburgh, to remane ther during the pleasor of parliament or ther committee. And for this effect grantis warrand to the magistrattis of Edinburgh to inlarge and put to libertie furth of ther said tolbuith and wairdhous the saids James Stewart, Robert Finlay and Johne Fleming to the effect they may remane confyned as afoirsaid, whairanent thir presentis sall be ane sufficient warrand.

Order: concerning the earl of Callander's charge in Stirling Castle
Anent the keeping of the castell of Stirling

The estates of parliament, haveing taken in consideratioun the motione maid concerne the keeping of the castell of Stirling, they ordaine the same to remaine in the charge and keeping of James, erle of Callander in the same conditioune as he presentlie hathe the chairge and power of the keeping of the samyne ay and whill he be dischairged therof.

Act Sir Charles Erskene anent the castell of Dumbartane

The estates of parliament, haveing heard and considdered the supplicatioun of Sir Charles Erskene of Cambuskenneth, knight, shewing that James, duke of Lennox and Richmond etc. hes substitute the said Sir Charles keeper of the castell of Dumbartane under the said duke of Lennox, with the priviledges belonging therto in maner specefeit in the gift grantit be his grace to the said Sir Charles therupone of the daite the first day of December 1646 yeeres, and thairfore desryeing the parliament to give ordor for possessing of the said Sir Charles Erskene in the foirsaid castell with the priviledges belonging therto, conforme to the said gift, and that he sall be willing to obey the parliament and these haveing power frome thame, as the supplicatioun proportis. The saidis estates of parliament ordaines the said Sir Charles Erskene, supplicant, to be put in possessioune of the said castell of Dumbartane with the priviledges therto belonging, conforme to the gift granted to him be the said James, duke of Lennox for keeping of the said castell of Dumbartane under him of the daite the said first day of December 1646 yeeres, the said Sir Charles Erskene, supplicant, being alwayes lyable to the ordors of parliament and committee of parliament and those intrusted with the command of ther forces. And for this effect the estates of parliament doe heirby ordaine the present gariesone of the said castell of Dumbartane to remove furth therof and the present governour and captane of the castell of Dumbartane to rander the samyne castell and his possessioune therof to the said Sir Charles Erskene, supplicant, that he may presentlie enter to the possessioune therof and keepe and bruik the samyne with the priviledges belonging therto, conforme to the gift abonewrittin grantit to him for keeping therof be the duke of Lennox and ordinance of parliament for puting the supplicant in possessioune of the said castell according therto, the supplicant being lyable to the ordors of parliament or ther committee and these intrusted with the command of ther forces as is afoirsaid.

Letters: to the marquis of Argyll and laird of Ardkinglas concerning their regiments

The estates ordaines ane letter to be writtin to the marques of Argyll to understand be what ordor his regiment is removed frome ther quarteris and if he will continew in that chairge for the present service, togither with ane uther letter to the laird of Ardkinglas to that same effect concerneing his regiment and to understand why he did not obey former ordors; and ordening both to returne ther anser to the parliament or committee within 6 dayes efter ther report of the letters. Whilks letters were accordinglie drawne up, red, approven and subscryved in parliament.
