Anent the supplicatioun given in to the parliament be Robert, lord Burghlie, Sir Thomas Thomeson of Dudingstoune, Sir Lues Stewart of Kirkhill, Mr Robert Nairne of Strathuird, Mr Alexander Colvill, justice depute, Mr Robert Bruce, advocat, to whome (or any foure of thame) Mr Andro Cant of Colmiestoune did committ the full trust and government of his estate and fortoune inrespect of his infirmities be the letters of interdictioune subscribed judiciallie befoir the secreit councell the sext of Januar 1648, and whome also umquhill Mr Johne Cant, his father, be his letter will and testicat did nominat oversieris to the said Mr Andro Cant, his personall fortoune, shewing that they haveing, according to the trust afoirsaid, tane particular notice of the said Mr Andro, his estaite and meanes and of the debtis wherintill he will be lyable as air to his father, they fand his haill estaite in moneyis to extend to ane hundreth and eight thousand merks (wherof ther is some in irresponsall handis), and his estaite in land rent to extend to thrie thousand merkis be yeere by ane tenement of land in Edinburgh lyfrentit be Johne Bannatynes wyff, with ane uther tenement ther not lyferentit be any, and that the debtis wherintill the said Mr Andro is lyable in payment, extendis to fourscoir twelff thousand merkis, and that his creditors are urgeing for ther principall soumes, whilk may tend to his prejudice if course be not tane for peyment therof and preveening the danger that may follow, whilk the supplicantis hes not power to doe, nether be his interdictioune nor be his umquhill fatheris testament; and thairfore desyreing warrand frome the parliament to uplift the principall soumes, anuellis and utheris addebtit to the said Mr Andro for defraying of his debtis and burdinges, or to transact with his debtors for renewing of ther bands in favors of his creditors for releefe of his debtis pro tanto; and if neid beis to sell or wodset any tenementis of land and utheris perteining to him as the supplicantis sould find most conduceable for preserveing of his estaite and fortoune, and to doe all uther thinges for the weill of his persone and estaite that tutors may doe of the law, as the supplicatioun mair fullie beires. Quhilk supplicatioun, with the instructiounes therof, being heard and considderit be the committee appoynted be the parliament for billis and supplicatiounes, and that committee haveing maid reporte therof and of ther judgment and opinion theranent to the parliament, whilk being also heard and considderit be the estaites of parliament, they give and grant full power and warrand to the supplicantis, conforme to the trust committed to thame be the interdictioune and testament respective abonewrittin, to uplift the rentis, dewties and annualrentis respective of the said Mr Andro Cant, his landis, moneyis and estaite; and to transact with his debtors and creditors respective by renewing of the bandis granted be his debtors to his umquhill father or himselff to and in favors of his creditors for peyment to thame of the lyke soumes awand to thame be him or his umquhill father; and for exoneratioun and releefe to him therof at ther handis of the soumes trewlie awand and yit unpeyit be him or his umquhill father to his just and trew creditors; and therupone to retire fra the creditors the principall bandis cancelled or sufficient dischairges therof; as also to uplift the debtis and soumes of money awand to the said Mr Andro Cant for payment to his creditors of the soumes trewlie awand be him or his umquhill father to thame, that the annualrentis therof payable be him rin not on unpeyit to his prejudice and ruine. And the estaites ordaines and declaires the supplicantis to be comptable for ther intromissioune and what they sall doe heiranent to the effect afoirsaid to the said Mr Andro Cant and to his narrest of kin and uthers haveing entres to his estaite and meanes afoirsaid as accordis of the law, whairanent thir presentis sall be ane warrand.
