The estates of parliament nominatis and appoyntis the erles of Cassillis, Roxburgh, Lawderdaill, Lowthean, Traquair and Lord Cochrane for the noblemen; the lordis Humbie and Lea, the lairdis of Garthland, Cunynghamheid, Arniestoune and Clerkingtoun for the barronis; Archbald Sydserff, Sir Alexander Wedderburne, Patrick Leslie, Mr Johne Hay, James Robertsone and Johne Forbes for the burrowes as ane committee of parliament to take in consideratioun the rightis, titles and documentis anent the antiquitie and prioritie in the place of precedencie betuixt the lordis Ross and Elphingstoune, to the quhilk committee (or ony ten thairof as the quorum) the estates of parliament gives power to heir the perties, receave in fra thame and considder ther rightis, titles and documentis anent the instructing of ther and ather of ther antiquities in the dignitie and place of lord and precedency theranent now contravertit betuixt thame, and thaireftir to reporte the samyne with ther opinion theranent to the parliament, that thereftir the parliament may take sick farder course theranent as they sall think fitt.

The estates of parliament gives heirby warrand and ordour to the justice and justice deputtis in the criminall persuite depending at the instance of Alexander Strauchane of Glenkindie and his maties advocat againes the laird of Haddo, his freindis, tennentis and servandis to grant commissioune to any unsuspect judge they think fitt in the countrey for receaveing of the probatioun of that defence and exceptioune alreddie fund relevant be the parliament be ther act of the 21 of this instant in the foirsaid criminall persuite, that neither the perties† nor the witnesses be put to that trouble to come heir to Edinburgh frome attending thair lawfull bussines, whairanent the estates declaires thir presentis shall be ane sufficent warrand to the said justices.
