Prayeris said, rollis called.
The estates of parliament, haveing hard and considdered the supplicatioune of George Gordoune at the mylne of Kellie and utheris, the tennentis, servands and freindis of the umquhile laird of Haddo above the number of 60 persones, shewing that they are cited befoir the justice at the instance of Alexander Strauchane of Glenkindie for being accessorie to sundrie deidis committed be the umquhile laird of Haddo, and desyreing the parliament to absolve thame frome these deidis for the ressounes mentionat in the supplicatioune, and in the meane tyme to command the justice generall and his deputtis to assoilzie the supplicantis or remitt them to the committee of estates, as the supplicatioune beires, the saidis estates of parliament continewis any procedor againes the supplicantis befoir the justice at the instance of the said laird of Glenkindie for the caus foirsaid whill Setterday come aught dayes, the 22 of Appryle instant, till the whilk tyme the estates dischairges the justice to proceed against the supplicantis. And in the meane tyme ordaines ane maisser to warne the said Alexander Strauchane of Glenkindie to compeir befoir that committee of parliament appoyntit for billis and supplicatiounes upone the morne efter he beis charged, and thair than to give in and produce befoir the said committee in writt what he can object againes the foirsaid supplicatioune and desyre thairof. And for this effect ordaines ane copie of the foirsaid supplicatioune to be given be the maisser to the laird of Glenkindie the tyme of his citatioune, whairanent thir presentis sall be ane sufficient warrand to the effect abonewrittin.

The estates of parliament, haveing tane to thair serious consideratioun the petitioune presented to thame be Thomas Cunynghame, conservator and agent for this kingdome in the Low Countreys, for himselff and in behalff of James Weir, his compairtner, for ther payment of the moneyis dew to thame be this kingdome, conforme to the former actis of parliament and committees granted in ther favoures therupone, as the supplicatioune and overtures given in therwith for the said supplicantis, ther assureance and payment mair fullie proportis, the saidis estates of parliament ordaines the soume of thrie thousand pundis sterling of the soume dew to the supplicant to be payed to him, or to any haveing his power and warrand, out of the monethlie mantenance of this kingdome for the twa monethis of Merche and Appryle 1648 yeeres instant and out of the excyse of the kingdome swa soone as the samen mantenance and excyse beis setled and established be the parliament, the armie being alwayes first payed and the generall commissar repayed of the six thousand merkis presentlie advanced be him to that expedition appoynted for suppressing of these Irishes and ileanders now in rebellione, and the quarteringis dew to the shires and burghis allowed to thame in the first end of thair mantenance for the saidis twa monethis; and als Doctor Johne Sharpe being lykwayis first payed efter the armie and quarteringes foirsaidis of the unpeyed bygane annualrentis of his principall soume of twentie thousand merkis Scottis, being his haill stock advanced and lent be him to the publict and yeet unpeyed, with the haill unpeyit bygane annualrentis therof. And for this effect the estates of parliament doe heirby give precept and warrand to the generall commissar and his deputtis and any utheris, the collectoris and intromettoris with the foirsaid excyse and twa monethis mantenance respective abonewritten of Merche and Appryle 1648 yeeres, to mak reddie, reall and thankfull peyment of the foirsaid soume of thrie thousand pundis sterling to the said Thomas Cunynghame, for himselff and his said compairtner abonenamed, or to any utheris haveing his power and warrand to receave the same soume, out of the foirsaid excyse and twa monethis mantenance abonementionat, the armie, with the six thousand merkis abonementionat dew to the generall commissar, the quarteringis dew to the shires and burghis and Doctor Sharpis haill unpeyed bygane annualrentis of his principall soume abonespeit being first peyed and allowed in maner respective beforeordained. And the estates ordaines the foresaid soume of thrie thousand pundis sterling appoyntit to be peyed to the said Thomas Cunynghame and his compairtner abonenamed to be allowed to thame in the soumes whilkis are reallie and trewlie dew to thame be the estates of this kingdome pro tanto; and the estates declaires that Doctor Johne Sharpe is only to be preferred to the supplicantis for sick bygane annualrentis of his principall soume as are yit trewlie unpeyed to him.

The estates of parliament, haveing hard and considdered the supplicatioune of Doctor Johne Sharpe, shewing that he had lent and delyvered to the publict for advanceing the good caus 20,000 merkis Scottis, whilk wes his haill stock, and that the samyne, with the most pairt of the annnuelrentis therof, is yit unpeyed, whairby he, his wyff and childring are brought to necessitie and extremitie in want of thair meanes of mantenance; and thairfore desyreing the parliament not to suffer him to be brought to ruine, bot to tak some speedie and reall course for his payment, as the supplicatioune mair fullie proportis.
