The estates of parliament, now conveened in this sext session of the first trienniall parliament, ratifies and approves the chartar and infeftment granted be the kingis majestie under his hienes great seall of the date the fourtenth day of July jM vC fourscore fourtene yeirs to umquhile Arthor Forbes of Rires, his aires and assigneyis, with ane gift de novo damus therintill, of all and haill the landis, lordschip and barronie of Rires, with the toure, fortalice, mylnes, woodis, yeardis, pairtis and pendicles therof particulartie exprest in the said chartar, lyand within the shirefdome of Fyiff, with the richt of patronage of kirks and chaiplanries perteining to the said lordschip and barronie of Rires, and speciallie the advocatioune, donatioune and richt of patronage of the chapell called St Marie Rires; all and haill the landis and barronie of Lewchars Forbes, with the pendicles and pertinentis therof contenit in the said chartar; all and haill the third pairt of the landis of Rashmyre, with houses, biggingis, mylnes, fishingis and pertinentis therof, and especiallie the fishing, alsewell salmond as uther fishingis, called Reid Sandis, with the fishing upon the water of Eden and coblenet passage therof; the landis of Brakmonth, with the towre, fortalice, maner place, mylnes, multors; the landis of Southfeild, with the maner place, mylne and pertinentis therof, with tennentis, tennandries and service of frie tennentis, all lyand within the shirefdome of Fyiff, togither with the landis of Strathieboyis and Nether Pirnie, lyand within the shirefdome of Pearth, all uneit in ane frie barronie called the barronie of Rires, to be haldin and with the reddendo contenit in the foresaid chartar, as the samen of the date abonementioned mair fullie proportis, togither with the instrument of saising of the landis and uthers abonewrittin given up to Robert Forbes, now of Rires, as sone and air to the said umquhile Arthor Forbes of Rires upon ane precept direct out of the chancellarie, the saising is dated the nynt day of November jM vjC ten yeirs, Johne Patersone, shireff clerk of Fyiff, notar therto, in the haill headis, articles and clauses of the foresaid chartar, infeftment and instrument of saising abonementioned and conforme to the tenoris therof in all pointis. The estates of parliament, now conveened in this sext session of the first trienniall parliament, haveing considered the gift of pension granted be his majestie to Sir Archbald Jonstoun, his advocat, of two hundereth pund sterling yeirlie during his lyiftyme in recompence of the good and faithfull service the said Sir Archbald hath done to his majestie, and for enabling him to the charge of serving of his majestie and of his sone, the prince, as ther advocat, as his majesties gift under his hand of the threttie day of October jM vjC fourtie sex yeirs at lenth beirs, and understanding that Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, his majesties late advocat, had the lyke pension notwithstanding he had many occasions and meanis of ryping commoditie by that place, whiche the said Sir Archbald can not have inrespect of his other publict imploymentis and diverse other occasions and reasons whiche will mak that place more burdensome and lesse beneficiall to him, therfore the estates doe ratifie, approve and confirme the said gift of pension to the said Sir Archbald, togither with ane formar gift of pension granted by his majestie at the desire of the estates to him when he was put on the session, whiche is of the date the ellevint of November 1641, in the whole tenors therof, dispensing with all defectis and impedimentis therin if anie be. And further finding that it is necessarie, inrespect of the condition of the said Sir Archbald and that it is conduceable also to the publict service that the said two pensions and the payment therof be secured to him and that otherwayis he will not be able to serve in these publict charges he is intrusted with, therfore the estates of parliament doe also heirby seriouslie recommend that the said two pensions be thankfullie and dewlie payed at the termes of payment respectivelie mentioned in the giftis aforementioned out of the first and readiest of his majesties revenues, propertie or casualitie whatsoevir, and that the thesaurer principall and deput, the lordis of exchecker, the receaveris of his majesties rentis, and all uthers quhom it concerns be carefull according to ther severall interests that the same be reallie performed.

The estates of parliament, presentlie conveened in this sext session of the first trienniall parliament, ratifies and approves the gift granted be his majestie to Mr Robert Mayne during his lyiftyme of the office of receaveing of the impost dew to be payit to his majestie for all wynes that sall happine to be imported within this his kingdome of Scotland within the boundis contenit in the said gift, with the haill fies and casualities belonging therto specefeit therintill, quhilk gift is of the date the nynt day of Januar jM vjC fourtie sevin yeirs, in all and sundrie headis, articles and circumstances of the samen; and willis and grantis and alse decernis and ordanis that the foresaid ratificatioune is and salbe alse valeid, effectuall and sufficient to the said Mr Robert Mayne as if the said gift wer word be word exprest heirin, albeit the samen be not swa done, quheranent, and with all defectis and imperfections (if anie be) that may follow therupon or that may be moved aganis the samen, the saids estates of parliament hes dispensed and be thir presentis dispenses for evir. As also ordaneing the foresaid signator and infeftment to follow therupon to be lykewise past and expede the registers and seallis gratis without anie payment to be tane for the same, as the foresaid act of the date abonementioned, conteining sundrie uther headis and clauses therintill with the ressones and causes quherupon the samen is granted, mair fullie beirs, in all and sundrie headis, articles, clauses, conditions and provisions respective of the foresaid act and conforme to the tenor therof in all points.
