Johne, erle of Crawfuird and Lindsey, high thesaurer of Scotland, protested in the contrair of the act of this date made in favors of the duke of Lennox for his payment of the equivalent of the fewdewteis of Illa out of his majesties rentis and revenewes of this kingdome and for his liberation of the payment of fyve hundereth pundis of takdewtie for the fewdewteis of Illa, that he as thesaurer and the lordis of exchecker may be frie from giving obedience to the said act.
Sir Williame Cochrane of Cowdoun, in name of the duke of Lennox, protested in the contrair of the said protestatioune.
