The estates of parliament doe heirby adde the persones eftirnamed to the formar valuers and committie for valuatioune of the shirefdome of Bervick, viz: the laird of Coldinghamelaw, the laird of Cumledge, the laird of Edrem, Johne Ker in Mersingtoune, Johne Home in Kello, James Home of the Hill of Whitsum, Mr Robert Hart of Chapell and Johne Erskene, portioner of Dryburgh, to whome, with the formar valuers of that schyre or to the greatest pairt of bothe, the saidis estates of parliament be thir presentis grantis power to revalue or rectifie the formar valuatiounes of the haill shirefdome of Bervick and to mak the samen equall and proportionall to all according to the rent and dewtie of the shyre for the haill landis, teindis and uthers within the samen for the quhilk mantenance hes bene, is or sould be payed, to the effect that nane be undervalued or overvalued in the said shyre, bot that everie ane may beare burden and pay the mantenance and uther publict dewis in ane equal and proportionable way. And the estates declares that the foresaid revaluatioune or rectifieing of the formar valuatioune of the said shyre is and salbe alwayis but prejudice to the publict and without diminitioune anent the payment and quantatie of the monethlie mantenance and uther publict dewis of schyre.
