Anent the suplicatioune given in to the estates of parliament be James Greirsone of Dalgonar and James Kirko of Sondaywell, for themselfis and as haveand power from the minister and parochiners of Dunscore, beirand that the kirk of Dunscore, being uncommodiouslie situat in the eist end of the paroche, quhilk is ten myiles of lenth, and being altogether rwinous, ane great pairt therof alreadie fallen to the ground and the rest standing upon propis and stoupis that the parochiners darre not for hazard of ther lyfe repaire therto for Godis worship, the samen was represented to the presbitrie and synod of Drumfreis, wha having takine the petition given in to them theranent, with ane croce petition given in theraganis be Jeane Stirling, lady Carse and Harbert Maxuell, hir sone, to thair serious consideration, they, eftir dew inquisition and mature deliberation, fand and unanimouslie condiscended that thair was ane necessitie for transplanting of the said kirk to the midle of the paroche for the good and benefite of the haill paroche, as ane act of the synod of Drumfreis of the auchtene of March 1645 and ane uther of the aucht of Apryle thereftir proportis and beiris, quherin the synod recommendis to the lordis of parliament, the committie for plantatioune of kirks or uthers judges competent the transportatioune of the foresaid kirk of Dunscore from the present stanse to the landis of Dalgonar nixt adjacent to the whyte croft, and therfore desyring the parliament to ratifie and approve the actis of the synod and to ordane the foresaid kirk to be transplanted to the place therby designed and ane new kirk to be builded their, and to ordane the haill heritors, parochiners and possessors to contribut proportionallie for building of the kirk, kirkyeard and manse to the minister and for carieing of timber, lymbe and stane therto, and to give present ordor to this effect inrespect of the present necessitie of the parochiners wanting ane hous to conveene in for the Lordis worship and service and ther instruction, as the suplicatioune proportis. Quhilk suplicatioune, being red and considered be that committie appointed for billes and suplicatiounes, they, eftir citatioune of sick heritors as had not consented to the foresaid desire, caused call the suplicantis and these heritors that did oppose the desire of the suplicatioune foresaid, quherupon the suplicantis compeired personallie with Mr David Hereot, ther procurator, and producit the foresaid actis abonementioned with the warrand and consent of these heritors that did condiscend and agrie to the desire of the suplicatioune; as also compeired personallie Jeane Stirling, for hirselfe and hir said sone, with Johne Dunlop, advocat, hir procuarator, quha gave in the defenses and reasones used be them aganis the transplantatioune of the said kirk. And the samen being red and the pairteis hinc inde hard for and aganis the desire abonewrittin, quhilk being considered be the foresaid committie and they haveing reported the samen with ther opinion theranent to the parliament, the estates of parliament, eftir consideration of the foresaid suplicatioune and desire therof, with the instructions of the samen and report of the foresaid committee theranent and anent the defenses and reasons given in theraganis, ratifies and approvis the foresaids actis of the synod of Drumfreis for transplanting of the said kirk of Dunscore to the place therby designed, and doe heirby ordane the foresaid kirk of Dunscore to be transplanted from the present stanse of the samen to the saids landis of Dalgonar nixt adjacent to the quhyt croft, and ordanis ane new kirk to be builded their and the haill heritors, parochiners and posessors of the parochine of Dunscore to contribut proportionallie for building of the said new kirk and of the kirkyaird and manse to the minister and for carieing of timber, lymbe and stane therto. And inrespect of the present necessitie of the parochiners wha wantis ane hous to conveene in for Godis worship and ther instruction, the saids estates ordanis the forsaid old kirk to be transplanted to the landis and place before designed and the new kirk to be builded thair with all present convenient diligence and expeditioune, and ordanis letters to be direct heirupon (if neid beis) to the effect before ordaned in forme as effeirs.
