Act in favours of the laird of Laweris and his regiment

The estates of parliament, haveing considdered the supplicatioune of James Campbell of Laweris, for himselfe and his umquhile father's regiment and troupe, craveing payment of the bygane arrears dew to him and them and that he might be placed collonell to his umquhile father's regiment in Ireland and rootmaster to his horse troupe in England and put in possessioune of bothe, as the suplicatioune beiris, they ordane the generall commissar within the kingdome of Scotland and generall commissar with the Scotis armie in Ireland to compt with the supplicant for the haill arrears dew to umquhile Sir Mungo Campbell of Lawers, his father, bothe as colonell of his regiment in Ireland and as rootmaster of ane troupe of horse, and alse for the haill arrears of the said regiment and troupe dew to them sen thair first goeing to Ireland that it may be constant what arrears ar dew and restand unpayit to them, and thaireftir to mak report thairof to the parliament or committie of parliament that some effectuall way may be thocht upon and set doune for payment thairof. And alse the estates recommends to the erle of Leaven, lord generall, and to the erle of Lothian, lieutenent generall of the armie in Ireland respective, to grant comission to the said James Campbell now of Laweris to be colonell and rootmaster respective of his umquhile father's regiment and of the troupe of horse abonewrittin and accordinglie to put him in possession of bothe.
