Act for fortifieing of the toun of Monrose

The estates of parliament, haveing hard and considdered the report of the committie of dispatches concerneing the toun of Monrose, findis that it is necessar for the good of the kingdome that the toun of Monrose be fortified, and thairfore ordanes the samen toun to be fortified for the good of the kingdome and service of the publict, and ordanes and appointis the presbitries of Brechine, Mearnes and a pairt of Arbrothe within aucht myles about the toun of Monrose (the toun of Brechine being reserved) to come and work at the fortificatiounes of the said toun of Monrose as they salbe required and desired for that effect, and ordanes tua hundereth men to remane in garisone within the toun of Monrose and to be interteaned upon the publict charge for defence and preservatioune of the toun.

Act in favours of Harie Young

The estates of parliament, haveing hard and considdered the report of the committie of dispatches concerneing Harie Young anent his charge in the fortifieing of the toun of Dumbartan, they grant and allow to the said Harie Young a capitanes pay according to the Scotis establishment during his being in the publict service for the use of the kingdome.
