Committee Members: committee to investigate the defeat at Kilsyth
Committie anent Kilsyith and Lieutennent Generall Baillie

The estates of parliament, haveing hard the supplicatioune of Lieutennent Generall Baillie beirand that he had ressaved letters from the lord generall for repairing to his charge in England, and desyreing the estates to tak consideration and tryell of his bygane service and cariage in the rencounter at Kilsyith and accordinglie to grant him approbatioune that he may returne to his aforesaid charge in England, and heirwith also taking to their consideration the unhappie rancounter at Kilsyith, they nominat and appoint the erles Marshell, Eglintoune, Glencairne, Cassillis and Lord Yestir for the noblemen; the Lord Wariestoune, the lairdis of Creiche, Harden, Garthland and Craigivar for the barrones; Mr Alexander Wedirburne, Johne Kennedie, Mr Robert Cunyngham, Mr Robert Barcley and Williame Glendoneing for the burrowis, with the generall officeris of the armie, as ane committie to whome (or ony nyne of them as the quorum, thair being tuo of everie estate) the estates gives power to tak in consideration and to try the cariage of the said Lieutennent Generall Baillie and of the haill officeris that had charge of the armie at Kilsyith and of the committie of estates present at that tyme and of the way and maner of the loiss of that day and occasion thairof, and ordanes the said committie or thair quorum to report to the parliament what they find heirintill with thair opinion thairanent, that thaireftir the parliament may tak the same to thair consideration as they think fitting.
