The estates of parliament, haveing hard and considdered the supplicatioune of Sir Adam Hepburne of Humbie, thesaurer of the armies, desyring them to appoint some auditours to ressave from him suche of his accomptis (alse well concerneing the armie in England as concerneing this kingdome) whiche ar not alreadie footted and to considder the same with the instructiones thairof and to mak thair report that the kingdome may ressave satisfaction concerneing them and he and his deputtis thair dew exoneratioune and approbatioune, as the supplicatioune proportis; they have nominat and appointed and nominatis and appontis William, erle of Dalhoussie, [...], erle of Kellie and Johne, lord Yestir for the noblemen; Sir James Lokhart of Ley, Sir William Cochrone of Cowdoun and James McDowell of Garthland for the barrones; Mr Robert Farquhar, burges of Abirdene, Johne Kennedie, burges of Air, and George Gardyne, burges of Bruntyland, for the burrowis, as ane committie from the parliament to the effect underwrittin. With power to them (or ony fyve of them as the quorum, thair being ane of everie estate) to ressave, heir, considder, calculat and discuss the said Sir Adam Hepburne, thesaurer of the armies, his accomptis, (alsewell concerning the armie in England as concerning this kingdome) whiche ar not alreadie footted, baithe charge and discharge thairof, and to considder the samen accomptis with the instructions thairof. And ordanes the saidis commissionars to meit and conveene to the effect abonespecefeit the [...] day of December instant in the lodgeing of [...], and thaireftir to appoint suche uthir tymes and dyetis of thair meitting for ressaveing, heiring, considdering, calculating and discussing of the saidis accomptis, charge, discharge and defalcatiounes thairof with the instructions of the same as the comissionars abonenamed or thair quorum sall think fitt. And ordanes them to report thair proceidingis thairanent and what they find thairintill to the estates of parliament, that they may thaireftir tak the same to consideration and accordinglie approve the samen as they sall think fitt.
