Procedure: opening of session

To the whilke day this fyift sessione of the first trienniall parliament was continwed by the last act of the fourt sessione thairof, dated the sevint of August 1645, and the estates thairby ordaned to meet and conveene in parliament this tuentie sext of November 1645.

Parliamentum tertium, eiusque sessio quinta, excellentissimi principis Caroli dei gratia Scotie, Anglie, Francie et Hibernie Regis fideique defensoris, haldin at Sanctandrois be the estates of this kingdome, viz: the noblemen, the commissionars for the barrones and the commissionars for the burrowis conveened in the foirsaid fyift session of this first trienniall parliament be vertue of the last act of the last parliament haldin be his majestie and thrie estates in anno 1641. The Erle Marshell, ane of the officers of parliament present; the laird of Brigtoun present for the erle of Erroll, constable.
