Act anent the present recrutes

The estates of parliament ordeanes and enactes that all the recrutes of foot and horse conforme to the act made at Stirling be brought to the armie in maner and at the tymes falloweing, viz: be thoise duelling be north Forthe betuixt and the nynteenth day of this instant moneth of August; and be these duelling be southe Forth betuixt and the tuentie tuo day of this moneth of August; and be these duelling in the sherrefdomes of Berwicke, Roxburgh, Selkirke and Nithsdaill betuixt and the tuentie fyfte day of this instant moneth. And also ordeanes that tuo of the committie of warr of each shyre, with the officeres to be appoynted for that effect, bring and conduct the souldieres from the randevous of the shyre to the armie quhair the samene shall happine to be for the tyme, provyding allwayes that thair be [in each company, by the officers,] ane hundreth of [good] souldieres. And sicklyke that all runawayes be brought to the armie; and also ordeanes that all actes of parliament or committies be putt to executione aganes runawayes and that this be done monethlie be order from the committies of warr.
