The estates of parliament, presentlie conveened in the fourt sessione of this first trienniall parliament be vertue of the last act of the last parliament haldine be his majestie and thrie estates in anno 1641, renewes and prorogates the act anent the mentenance of the armie made be the estates of parliament in the second sessione of this parliament wpoun the tuentie sext day of Februar 1645 yeires, togidder with proportiounable retentione of annuelrent quhilke makes nyne of ilke hundreth annuelrent to be reteined for the yeir jM vjC and fourty fyve, in the haill heids, articles, clauss and conditiones thairof, conforme to tennour of the samene in all poyntes and with the power thairinconteyned dureing the space of thrie monethes farder nor is conteaned in the samene former act abovewrittin, viz: fra the first day of September nixt 1645 yeires to the last day of November inclusive. Quhilke act of mentenance and proportionable retentione foirsaid heirby renewed and prorogate the estates of parliament ordeanes the samene to stand in full force and effect conforme to the tennour thairof in all poyntes dureing the prorogatione abovementionate, with this additione and declaratione allwayes: that it shallbe leisum to any who finds themselves prejudged and hurt be the former valuatione to leid and deduce ane new valuatione of thair land rent or other rent and that for the thrie monethes mentenance now farder granted, provyding they leid and deduce the samene betuixt and the first day of October. As also with power to any who hes advanced and payed the first moneth of the thrie monethes mentenance abovewrittin to deteane in thair owne handes thair proportionall pairt of thair land rent and casuell rent of the landes and otheres belongeing to them, conforme to thair valuationes, and that for the haill thrie moneths abovespecified. As also to deteane sicke other pairt of the sex monethes mentenance as it not yit payed be them and that ay and whill they be fullie refoundit and repayed of the said monethes mentenance now advanced be them incaise thair proportione of the thrie monethes now inacted or thair restes of the first sex monethes yit wnpayed be them shall extend to the same; otherwayes, incaice thair proportione of the haill nyne monethes mentenance shall exceed the soume now advanced, they shall be holdine to pay the superplus. And ordeanes these who shall make payment or give band to have releife of the comitty of the shyre and collector thairof, and declaires that the comissioners ticket of receipt shalbe ane sufficient dischairge to the advanceres of the soumes of money and these who shall give band for that effect.
