The estates of parliament, now conveened in the fourt sessione of this first trienniall parliament be vertue of the last act of the last parliament haldine be his majestie and thrie estates in anno 1641, haveing takine to thair consideratione the resultes exhibite wnto them from the severall bodies wpoun the continowatione of the act of mentenance, doe ordeane and enact that ane monethe of the first thrie monethes now to be prorogat be presentlie advanced, provyding allwayes that where there hes bene ony quartering of souldieres in ony shyres since the tuentie day of Marche last the persones who have furnished quarteres shall have retentione pro tanto in the first end of the mentenance for thair quartering since that tyme.
