The estates of parliament, presentlie conveened in the fourth sessione of this first trienniall parliament be vertue of the last act of the last parliament haldine be his majestie and thrie estates in anno 1641, have nominate and appoynted the persones wnderwrittin, viz: for the nobilitie, Archbald, marques of Argile, Williame, Erle Mershell, Alexander, erle of Eglingtoun, Johne, erle of Cassilles, Robert, erle of Roxburghe and Williame, erle of Lanerke; for the barrones, the lairdes of Coudoun, Brughlie, Scotscraige, Garthland, justice clerke and Cesnocke; for the burrowes, Sir Johne Smyth, Mr Alexander Weddirburne, Patrike Leslie, Thomas Bruce, Johne Kennedy and Mr Robert Cunynghame, and the lord chancellour and president of parliament to be supernumerarie, to treate and thinke wpoun what course may be thought fittest for the prosecutione of the present warr aganes the rebelles and to try what obedience is givine to the late act made for outputting of the forces; which committie is appoynted to meitt with the gentrie and such of the committies of warr of ilke shyre as are present, and the burrowes to meitt with the shyres within which they naturally ly. The quorum of the which committy by the said supernumerarie persones is appoynted to be ellevine, thair being tuo of each estate; and the said comittie to meit presentlie in the parliament house.
