Anent the supplicatione givine in to the parliament be Williame Freir, beirand that in Maii 1642 he sold and delyvered to the Scotts armie in Ireland ane shipes loadeneing of victuell, extending the pryce therof to ellevine hundreth fiftie nyne pund sterling, for payment quhairof and annuelrent therof he got band from Williame Thomsone and Johne Campbell in November 1642, quhairof he yit wantes payment of 459 lib. sterling of the greater soume abovewrittin be the space of tuo yeires and ane halfe to his great prejudice, he being in service with the lord generall, his excellence, and therby not being able to attend for prosecuting sike wayes as may procuire him payment, and therfore desyreing command to the commissioners, thesaureres and collectours for the publict and thaire deputtis to make payment to the supplicant of the foirsaid soume or ellse to receive from him ane list of the names of some persones who have not lent moneyes to the publict and who are able to len the same, and therwpoun to give warrand to the supplicant for payment of his soume out of the reddiest of the moneyes to be lent be these persones and not to apply the samene to no other wse whill the supplicant be first payed; being this day reported in audience of the parliament from that committie appoynted for billes and overtures to whom this supplicatione wes first presented and the samene supplicatione, with the desyre and report therof foirsaid, being hard and considdered be the estates of parliament, they remit the samene to the committie appoynted for provyding of moneyes and takeing course for malignantes rentes, and heirby seriouslie recommendis the supplicant, with his desyre foirsaid, to the said committie for provyding of moneyes to sie him speedilie satisfied of his just debt yit restand awand wnpayed to him.
