Ratificatione to the Lord Living[s]tone

The estates of parliament, presentlie conveend by vertue of the last act of the last parliament haldine be his matie and thrie estates in anno 1641, ratifies and approves the chartour wnder his maties great seill, with the procuratorie and instrument of resignatione wherwpoun the samene proceidit, granted be our said soverane lord to his maties right trust cusing, George, lord Livingstoune and to his aires maill laufullie to be gottine of his bodie, quhilkes failzieing, to his nerrest and laufull aires maill and of tailzie and assigneyes whatsomevir heritablie and irredeameablie, off all and haill the office of constabularie and keiping of the palice of Linlithgow, lyand within the burghe of Linlithgow and sherrefdome therof, with all and sundrie fies, casualities, proffites and dewties perteaneing and belonging to the said office, and of all and haill the parkes, peilles and loches of the said palace of Linlithgow, with the midowes, stankes, yairdes, orchyairdes, pairtes, pendicles and pertinentes quhatsomevir, all lyand besyde the said palace of Linlithgow and within the shereffdome and lordship therof, and of all and haill the office of bailliarie of all and sundrie his maties landes lyand within the said lordshipe of Linlithgowshyre, and wpoun all and sundrie the tennentes and occupyeres therof, with the haill fies, casualities, priviledges, commodities, proffits and dewties perteaneing and belonging therto, and sicklyke of all and haill the office of constabularie and keeping of the castell of Blacknes, with all and sindrie annualrentes, fies, proffites, dewties, priviledges, commodities and liberties therof usit and wont, togidder with the saltpanes biggit or to be bigged wpoun the shoire within the boundes of the landes of Blaknes, and of all and haill the landes of Bonitoune and Blaknes, with the coalles and coallhewes of all and sindrie the samene landes of Bonitoune and Blaknes, als weill within as without the sea flood, and pertinentes therof, with tennentes, tennendries, service of frie tennentes, fewfermes and dewties therof perteaneing to the keeping of the said castell, lyand within the said shereffdome of Linlithgow, and with the fishes, fishings and croves of Blaknes within the sea and haill boundes therof, quherof Alexander, erle of Linlithgow, father to the said George, lord Livingstoune, or ony wtheres his predicessoures war in possessione of before, to be haldine of our said soverane lord and his maties successours in maner and for payment of the dewties contenit in the said chartour, quhilke is of the dait at Edinburgh, the fyfte day of December jM vjC and fourtie tua yeeres, togidder with the precept of seasing falloweing therwpoun, wnder the testimoniall of his maties great seall, in the haill heids, articles, clauss and conditiones of the foirsaid chartour, procuratorie and instrument of resignatioun wherwpoun the samene proceedit, and precept of seasing falloweing therwpoun. And the saides estates of parliament declaires the generalitie of this present ratificatioune to be als valied and sufficient to the said George, lord Livingstoune and his foirsaids as if the foirsaides procuratorie and instrument of resignatione, chartour and precept falloweing therupon wer all word be word and at lenth exprest and insert heirintill and as if the samene had bene granted to them before the taking of seasinge of the landes and otheres foirsaids contenit in the said chartour, notwithstanding of the seasing, if any be, allreddie takine of the samene; quheranent and anent all other defects and imperfectiounes quhatsomevir quhilkes onywayes may be proponit or alledged aganes the validitie of the saides procuratorie and instrument of resignatione, chartour and precept falloweing therwpoun, the saides estates of parliament hes dispnensit and be thir presentes dispenss for evir.
